2 Week Golden Gopher Recap

Tagged:  •

Well, I could continue beating a dead horse saying what needs to be improved and what is being done that is good.

The missed opportunities for turnovers have been killing the Gophers. Fumbles, interceptions that we should be making plays on are just not there. However, those types of things will come as the players get older and get the experience of playing in these types of games.

Anyone catch the number of that train?????

Well where do I begin with this one? Well lets start with the bad, find some good, and then look ahead to something painful.

The Gophers got beat 45-31. They should have had that game tied at 45 or have won it 52-45. But of course mistakes and a young, inexperienced defense let this one go to a team named after a shot you order at the bar.

San Diego Super Losers

Well, what was supposed to be an awesome and follow up to a season for the ages, has started out as nothing more than a season to forget. After a big win against last years AFC super bowl rep, the Chicago Bears, the bolts have struggled. They find themselves losing consecutive games. The teams they lost too are as different as can be, however, they both did have some extra emotion carried into the game.

Week 3 Woes and a look ahead

Not much good can be said about week 3. I mulled it over for a while and had nothing really positive to say about it. Hard to watch really. Although, seeing Northwestern being beat by Duke gave me some confidence that maybe we won't finish within the bottom 11 of the Big 10.

Week 2....

Irish eyes are cringing.

Okay, so 0-3 isn't a good record. No one would ever try and say it is. 0-3 is usually a sign that you need to start sending out those recruiters and make sure they have the "playing time" and "resurrect the glory" cards in there hands. 0-3. Bad record. 0-3 isn't anywhere near as bad as what Notre Dame has managed to excrete this season. 119th (out of.... 119 teams) in D1 rushing (-14 yards for the whole season), 115th for passing (359 yards), 119th in scoring offense, 119th in total offense, 111th in rush defense (712 yards and 7tds) while allowing 23 sacks (also the worst in d1).

Triple Overtime Madness

Well, a win is a win. Coach Brewster has got to be feeling good, and feeling even better that Lloyd Carr is struggling a few states over to the East. But, lets talk about how week 2 felt as a Gopher fan.

So as the Gophers head into their next game against Miami Ohio there are a few things that should be pointed out about this new team and coach.

Panthers Preseason finale

Tagged:  •

Well...... as everyone expected this would be a boring game but for the die hard panthers fan it was worth watching to see what the "no-names" can do and it wasn't much :haha:

Jake Delhomme, Dan Morgan and Steve Smith didnt see any action at all but smitty did help on the sideline preparing some gatorade for the guys that wear out there playing, now thats a team player!
